About
Our Philosophy
We are doing this ministry with people who have disabilities and not for them. This means that there is no hierarchy of abilities, we are all equal, especially at the foot of the cross. We are walking with the campers and families as they do life and support each other in a genuine Christian community.
Our History
Camp Promise began in 1990 with 9 campers with special needs. Currently we serve over 150 campers with six weeks of summer camp and Promise Club programs throughout the year. For over 35 years, it has been a place to make friends, have new experiences, and learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Camp Promise Ministries exists to glorify God by sharing the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, creating meaningful community with people of all abilities, and encouraging families impacted by disability.
Bringing Faith, Connectivity, and Opportunity to the Disability Community
The disability community is often underserved and there are few Christian camping opportunities for people with disabilities in the Pacific northwest, even less in the state of Montana. At Camp Promise, we're working to change that. We are continuing to look for ways to engage the disabilities community with Bible Studies, respite programs and opportunities to serve the people around them.
Faith First Programs
Camp Promise’s top priority is to share the gospel of Christ with campers and their families, helping them grow strong in their faith. We do this through daily chapels, devotions, and one-on-one discipleship during camp, as well as through online Bible studies and Promise Club programs throughout the year.
A Ministry of Big Sky Bible Camp
Camp Promise is a ministry of Big Sky Bible Camp, which exists to glorify God by leading individuals to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and intentionally fostering Christian growth through the camp setting.
Our Partners
We partner with churches to support our camp and club ministries. In 2023, a grant from the Lilly Endowment is helping us expand our Promise Club program and create video curriculum for parents to disciple their children at home. We also depend on our generous donors. To learn more about how you can help, visit our donation page.
